Jace Everett is the voice and songwriter behind 'Bad Things,' the theme song of the hit HBO series, 'True Blood.' And as the show is about vampires, it's perhaps fitting that Jace opens it every week, as he seems to be quite familiar with vampire practices!

"I've been bitten many times," the country singer tells PEOPLE. "Most of the stories I don't think I should tell, but I bit a kid's earlobe off once in a fight when I was real little. Like 10. This was long before Mike [Tyson]."

That story could actually make for a good country song. "I think we were fighting over a girl," Jace admits.

Jace says 'True Blood' has inspired some of his songwriting, even if the subject matter may be a bit questionable. 'Damned If I Do,' he says, is a love song that was written after watching an episode. "I've never actually been love with a vampire," he jokes, "but it could be a love song between a vampire and a human."
