Hunter Hayes Surprises Fan, Performs ‘Merry Christmas Baby’ at 2014 CMA Country Christmas

Hunter Hayes made it a very merry Christmas indeed -- or at least a very merry CMA Country Christmas -- for one lucky fan.

Through the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Macy's Believe campaign, which helps raise money for the foundation each holiday season, one of Hayes' biggest fans, Courtney Grieger, got to spend some time with the country singer. The two, along with Grieger's family, hung out and even sang together a little bit, duetting on Hayes' songs 'Wanted' and 'Cry With You.'

Hayes also presented Grieger with a bag full of merch and a brand-new acoustic guitar, and Macy's "hooked her up," according to Hayes, with a great outfit for the CMA Country Christmas taping, where she and her family had seats right up front -- the perfect spot for the massive Hayes fan to watch her favorite artist's spirited performance of 'Merry Christmas Baby.' Hayes livened up the decked-out stage with his rendition of the R&B Christmas standard, also taking the chance to show off his guitar skills.

"I’m always looking for, like, bluesy Christmas songs,” Hayes says of the tune. “When I heard it, I was like, 'That’s perfect!'"
