Gretchen Wilson is helping Dollar General award a million dollars to one unsuspecting customer and fan. The Country Million sweepstakes runs through December 15 and includes 5,500 prizes. The grand-prize winner will receive a trip to Nashville, Tenn. and a million dollars, while other prizes include cash, Gretchen's CDs and Dollar General gift cards.

It's no wonder Gretchen has decided to take part in a contest which could drastically change someones life for the better. Gretchen experienced her own Cinderella moment in 2004 when the seemingly overnight success of 'Redneck Woman' took her a million miles away from her modest Pocahontas, Ill. upbringing.

This isn't the first time Gretchen has partnered with Dollar General. The 'Here For The Party' singer recently launched a PSA campaign with the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the Ad Council providing high school dropouts with information to get their GED Diplomas.

A high school drop out herself, literacy is a topic close to Gretchen's heart.

"People need the right tools to succeed, and, at the very minimum, a major tool on the road to success is a high school diploma or GED," Gretchen explained. "This campaign will go a long way toward educating people on how to take that first step to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families, and I'm honored to be a part of it."

To enter the sweepstakes, customers must be 21 years of age or older and living in Dollar General's 35-state market area. After purchasing qualifying products, customers may go here or call 1-866-541-0196 to enter the required information from purchase receipts. The $1 million dollar prize will be awarded as an annuity, payable in equal installments of $50,000 per year for 20 years.

Gretchen is currently promoting 'I Got Your Country Right Here' and can next be seen on the road in Duluth, Ga. October 23. More information can be found here.
