George Jones may have passed away on April 26, 2013, but his legacy continues to live on. Now, the country music legend will be remembered in a new book, 'The Legend of George Jones: His Life and Death,' which is a collection of stories spanning his 81 years.

Written by his good friends Charlene and Earl 'Peanutt' Montgomery, the tell-all book includes Jones' illustrious music career, five marriages, personal struggles (including Jones' alleged attempted murder of Peanutt in the '70s), his bankruptcy and funeral details.

Peanutt -- who wrote 73 songs for the Grand Ole Opry member, including 'Loving You Could Never Be Better' -- and his wife, Charlene, befriended Jones and his four children, who each endorsed the tell-all book.

The Montgomerys maintain they make no excuses for some of Jones' decisions, but they insist the beauty of his spirit will be evident among the details.

In addition, 'The Legend of George Jones: His Life and Death' also includes a CD of nine Peanutt Montgomery/George Jones songs, plus two never-released songs, recorded by some of country music’s top players.

The book, which is being released by Heritage Builders Publishing, will be available on April 15. Pre-order a copy here.
