Frankie Ballard is already in the giving Christmas spirit. The "Young & Crazy" singer has announced plans for his sixth annual Country Christmas Concert.

The charity event, set to take place on Dec. 19 in Ballard's hometown of Kalamazoo, Mich., will benefit the Detroit chapter of Notes for Notes, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing local youth with completely free access to musical instruments, instruction and recording studio environments so that music may become a profoundly positive experience in their lives.

"I’m so proud to be partnering up with Notes for Notes this year at our Christmas show,” Ballard says. “All of the proceeds will go toward beautiful music studios for youth to learn and enjoy. Hope to bring home 2015 with you there in Kalamazoo!"

Ballard will perform several Christmas classics during the concert, as well as some of his own hits, such as "Sunshine & Whiskey" and "Helluva Life."

Ballard recently spent some time on the road as part of another holiday event: The 32-year-old is part of the 2015 Taste of Country Christmas Tour, along with Canaan Smith, A Thousand Horses, Old Dominion and Chase Rice. His time on the tour has ended, but the trek itself runs through mid-December.

Ballard is also hard at work on a new album, although he says that his record-creating process differs from that of his peers.

“I started making music the way I wanted to make it, which is a little bit different than Nashville was used to making records,” Ballard acknowledges. “I think that’s what any artist has to do, or try to do, is just stay as true to themselves and what their sensibilities and influences [are], and the songs they have in their heart and the things they want to say. I think that’s good advice for anybody.”
