Miranda Lambert has dominated the CMA Awards' Female Vocalist of the Year category since 2010 and is tied for the longest category win streak. Can she make history this year, or will another leading lady take her place?

Lambert has certainly had a remarkable year, basking in the afterglow of her successful record 'Platinum' and receiving nine -- yes, nine -- nominations for this year's CMAs.

Martina McBride won this award four times, in 1999 and then 2002-2004, and has been nominated 17 times. Known as the 'Celine Dion of Country Music,' this singer released a cover album, 'Everlasting,' this year and knows her way around country music. Kacey Musgraves has a completely different style than any of the ladies nominated in for Female Vocalist of the Year, but that doesn't deter fans from loving her. She won New Artist of the Year Award in 2013, and with another solid year of experience under her belt, she's a definite contender.

Taylor Swift may now be a pop singer, but she's still nominated in this category -- most likely the last time her name will appear at the CMAs for a while. Her 'Red' album and supporting tour smashed records, and throughout the years, she has become one of the most recognized singers in the world. Could this be her last hoorah in country?

Last but not least, Carrie Underwood has claimed this award three times, most recently in 2008. This category is one of her three nominations for the evening, and the vocal powerhouse is always a contender ... and often times, a winner.
