The Eli Young Band has struck gold! The Texas-based band earn their first RIAA certification with 'Crazy Girl,' selling more than 500,000 digital downloads of their current Top 20 single.

The track is the first release from their upcoming album, 'Life at Best.' The band issued a five-song EP earlier this summer, featuring 'Crazy Girl' as the title track. Despite some initial reservations, the band members quickly warmed up to the idea of the five-track disc. "It's great having 'Crazy Girl' out there," guitarist James Young tells The Boot. "When we were first approached about the [five-song] EP, we weren't quite sure how we felt about it." He adds, "Once we realized the music would get out there more quickly, we knew it was right."

Fans craving new music don't have to wait long. The remaining nine tracks will be released in the form of 'Life at Best,' the band's full-length Republic Nashville Records debut, due out August 16.
