Drake White is likely the envy of plenty of up-and-coming artists, and with good reason: The Alabama native scored the opening slot on Little Big Town's fall run of Pain Killer Tour dates.

"I just kind of closed my eyes and said, ‘Thank you,'" White tells The Boot of his reaction. "I had gratitude. I’m so grateful for that, to get to go out there and learn from such great individuals."

Although LBT have been forced to cancel a few of their tour's summer dates due to member Jimi Westbrook's vocal cord surgery, White's run with the band is unaffected, and he's looking forward to getting out on the road with the country quartet.

They’re so humble and so good at what they do. They take everybody into consideration and really care about people," White continues. "The feeling was just ... I was grateful, like a lot of hard work has paid off. To go out there and hang out with them is going to be really cool."

White's debut single from his upcoming album, "It Feels Good," is steadily climbing the charts, but he says that right now, his focus is mostly on his live show.

"... Our bread and butter is our live show. We’ll go out there and try to put out experiences for the fans. We love the fans," White says. "We’re just building our brand ... and hopefully on the back of "It Feels Good"'s success, we can get onto the album this fall."

White has several solo shows on his calendar this summer as well. Keep track of his schedule at DrakeWhite.com.
