Canadian singer-songwriter Delta Jackson is premiering her version of "Willin'," a song originally performed by Little Feat and also covered by Linda Ronstadt, exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play below to listen.

It's more fitting to say that Jackson is covering Ronstadt's version of "Willin'" than the Little Feat original: Jackson channels the '70s country chanteuse in her version of the song, which she says she discovered at a young age.

"It would be tough to top Linda Ronstadt as far as my inspirational musical and vocals roots go," Jackson tells The Boot. "I had it clear from before we went in the studio that I wanted to record this song, time permitting. Given the band that we put together for the recordings ... the song nearly played itself."

Jackson plans to officially release her version of "Willin'" on Friday (April 13), the date on which its late songwriter (and Little Feat founder) Lowell George was born in 1945. It will also appear on her self-titled EP, set for release on April 20 and available for pre-order via iTunes. Jackson recorded the project at Real World Studios in Bath, England, with producer Jeremy Stacey and Dom Monks; her studio band included Stacey, Ethan Johns and more.
