David Nail Shares His ‘Dreams': Exclusive Videos

David Nail has friends in high places. On his brand-new album, 'The Sound of a Million Dreams,' the acclaimed singer boasts guest vocals by Lee Ann Womack and Sarah Buxton, while he also shares writing credits with some other big Nashville names, including Phil Vassar, Scooter Carusoe and Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley.

Phil and Scooter are the writers of the poignant title track, a song David calls the story of his life. "As soon as I heard this song, I knew by the third line I was gonna cut it," he tells The Boot. "It's one of the more brilliant songs I've ever heard ... I can remember being so nervous that someone else was gonna hear it and cut it before me -- I loved it that much."

David joined the Lady A guys in writing 'I Thought You Knew,' an aching love song about a guy who hasn't expressed his emotions enough to the object of his affection. Getting to know the 'We Owned the Night' singers on the road made David realize their success isn't through luck. "Charles and Dave both love writing and work hard at it ... We played 32 dates, so that was the first long tour that I've been on, and to see how they handled every day was pretty inspiring. It showed me they're not just where they are because they had a great song -- they work their butts off, too."
