David Myles, 'It's Christmas' [Exclusive Download]

David Myles is giving fans an early Christmas gift: The singer is offering a free download of his holiday tune "It's Christmas" exclusively for readers of The Boot.

"It's Christmas" is the title track of Myles' 2014 holiday album. Readers can hear and download the song below; the entire record is available for purchase on iTunes.

"The song "It’s Christmas," for me, is about the feeling of Christmas ... the things that we value during the holidays -- generosity, community and family. It’s about the entire experience of Christmas and how great it is (and I’m not talking about the shopping, of course! Ha!)," Myles tells The Boot. "It’s about the idea that the world would be a better place if we lived as though it were Christmas all year long. The challenge is to hang onto that spirit of kindness throughout the year."

Myles released his most recent album, So Far, in September. He recently premiered the music video for one of its songs, "When It Comes My Turn," with The Boot.

“I was on a really slow bus through Alberta. I was feeling old. Feeling like I was turning the corner into adulthood. Settling into the next stage of life,” Myles tells The Boot of the inspiration for “When It Comes My Turn.” “I was thinking, if I’m gonna be an adult, I want to do it right. I don’t want to go down a path of cynicism and unhappiness. So I wrote myself this little memo, reminding me to stay focused on the important stuff."

The Nova Scotia-based artist has a calendar full of upcoming performances, both in Canada and the United States. A list of all of Myles' tour dates is available on his website.
