Danny GokeyDanny Gokey is going to be sporting new glasses, as many as 60 different pairs, as part of his role as spokesperson for the Wisconsin Vision optical company. The 'American Idol' season eight finalist, whose eye wear is almost as famous as his voice, will be appearing in television commercials, social media and outdoor advertising. He'll also make in-store appearances for the Milwaukee-based campaign.

Being a hometown boy makes him even prouder to be able to wear the glasses, which he sported at times on 'Al.' "Milwaukee will always be home and supporting area-based businesses is important to me," says Danny. "I'm known for my eye wear. With Wisconsin Vision, I will not only have the best in fashion, but also the most accurate lenses available."

Danny likes to accessorize his look with different pairs of spectacles. "I used to wear a lot of real sleek glasses, and I'm noticing that I'm starting to break away and going to bigger frames," the singer tells The Boot. "I still wear the sleek ones, but ... I'm evolving. I really want to expand my collection."

While financial terms of the agreement were not revealed, Danny has said, "I want to do a line of glasses that benefits not only me, but my foundation. That's very important to me." The Sofia's Heart Foundation was named after his late wife who passed away in 2008, a month before his 'Idol' audition. The charity assists kids of all ages with music and arts programs and more.

The crooner released his debut album, 'My Best Days,' last week, and is currently scaling the country charts with the title track, 'My Best Days are Ahead of Me.'
