Danity Kane, the pop group formed by Diddy five years ago for MTV's hit series, 'Making the Band,' have split up to pursue their own individual careers. For one member of the girl group, that means an arguably surprising switch to country music.

Shannon Bex has been seen around Nashville in recent months, as she works on a solo album in the country music capital. The singer says she's enjoying being on her own.

"I'm just working on finding my solo sound," Shannon tells MTV. "I have been with a group for an amazing five years, and you know, things move on. I want to do it right, though. I'm not jumping into anything."

Shannon, who has dabbled in everything from rock to R&B to hip-hop, is now pursuing country with one particular inspiration in mind: Garth Brooks. "He's such an honest performer," she says of the country superstar. "I went to his concert for the first time ever, and I was in the 300 level, but it felt like he was performing right to me."

Since Danity Kane performed together on the season three finale of 'Making the Band,' rumors have swirled of a possible reunion, but Shannon insists there are no plans to put the band back together. "At this point in time, no, not yet," she says of a reunion. "But maybe one day we can come back together."
