Chris Stapleton to Perform at Lollapalooza 2016
Lollapalooza 2016's lineup has been announced, and among its many acts is one of country music's brightest rising stars, Chris Stapleton.
The "Fire Away" singer will perform at the massive annual festival, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ellie Goulding, J. Cole, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Lana Del Ray and many, many more. From July 28 through July 31, 170 bands and artists will be performing in Grant Park in Chicago, Ill.
One-day tickets for Lollapalooza 2016 are on sale now, for $120, at Lollapalooza.com. Four-day general admission passes have already sold out. Per day, 100,000 people are expected at the festival.
Lollapalooza began in 1991. This year, the event will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the first-ever four-day Lollapalooza.
Stapleton, who recently nabbed two Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album, and swept won all three categories in which he was nominated at the 2015 CMA Awards, was just announced as the 2016 ACM Awards New Male Vocalist of the Year. He is nominated for additional trophies at the upcoming awards show, set to take place on April 3.
“I don’t make records to win awards,” Stapleton said after his Grammys wins. “I make records to make records, and hopefully make the records as good as they can be. That’s what these awards hopefully represent …”
In August, shortly after Lollapalooza, Stapleton will begin a co-headlining tour with Hank Williams Jr. Prior to those shows, Stapleton is booked to play both weekends at Coachella in April and at Bonnaroo in June.
