The country superstar dons Native American-inspired garb for the new video, which expands on the song's message of building understanding and everyone moving forward together. Directed by Shane Drake, Underwood's "Love Wins" video begins with a shot of a hopeless-looking group of people plodding along a lonely stretch of dirt road on foot, with dark visual tones representing their grim fortunes. But they begin to brighten as they cross a bridge and enter a large clearing, just as Underwood delivers the inspirational chorus.

"I believe you and me are sisters and brothers / And I believe we're made to be here for each other," Underwood sings. "We'll never fall if we walk hand in hand / Put a world that feels broken together again / I believe in the end love wins."

The "Love Wins" video then shifts perspectives entirely, adding bright colors in the form of Underwood's painted face, as well as colored powder that the assembled crowd throw into the air as they gather together. Underwood joins in the festivities, dancing and beaming as they all celebrate in a spirit of unity.

Underwood says she intended "Love Wins" to provide a voice of reason in turbulent times: "We weren't trying to speak negatively about our world, because we live in an amazing world, but I feel like we get really caught up in surface things and I feel like in this world, we're quick to get angry at each other," she said recently. "I personally think that we're all different for a reason. I feel like if you just sit down and talk to somebody who's not like you and keep it calm, we can all learn from each other."

"Love Wins" is the second single from Underwood's new album, Cry Pretty, which is set for release on Friday (Sept. 14). The project's title track and lead single recently peaked inside the Top 10. The singer co-produced the new tracks with David Garcia and Jim Jonsin, and she co-wrote nine of the 13 new songs.
