Carrie Underwood got the introduction of a lifetime this past Saturday (Aug. 3). The 'See You Again' singer was introduced at a weekend festival appearance by an astronaut who is currently serving aboard the International Space Station.

NASA worked with the organizers of the 31st annual WE Fest, in Detroit Lakes, Minn., to create the out-of-this-world announcement. Astronaut Karen Nyberg, who is a huge fan of Underwood, grew up in nearby Vining, Minn., and later graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She got to introduce the singer to 47,000 fans via a video link -- while circling the Earth in a 225-mile-high orbit.

Nyberg's husband, fellow astronaut Don Hunley, was on hand at the concert to see his wife bring Underwood onstage. Afterward, the singer posted to Twitter, thanking the fans for their support.
