Carrie Underwood's big-screen debut in 'Soul Surfer' is only a few days away. The singer takes on the role of Sarah Hill, a youth leader who helped young surfer Bethany Hamilton emotionally recover following the loss of her arm in a devastating shark attack. But while Bethany's resilience and ability to overcome seemingly impossible odds makes her a hero to many, the teen says the one she idolizes is Carrie.

"Having Carrie play my friend Sarah Hill was such an honor for the both of us," Bethany tells CMT. "We were both so stoked. I'm obsessed with Carrie Underwood now. She's incredible. I'm always listening to her, and to 'Jesus, Take the Wheel.'"

The young athlete, whose iPod typically includes plenty of reggae music, is portrayed in the film by 'Sleepwalking' star AnnaSophia Robb. The 17-year-old actress says she was very familiar with Carrie long before they met on set, thanks to her favorite hang-out, the Grizzly Rose, in her hometown of Denver, Colo.

"It's like a line-dancing place," she explains. "And on Sundays, people 18 and under can come. We have so much fun. I learned the watermelon crawl and so many more. I don't know the names, but I know the steps!"

'Soul Surfer' hits theaters this Friday, April 8. View a sneak preview of the film below.
