This week, we saw new singles out from Brett Young, I'm With Her and Jimmie Allen. Read on to hear the new tunes!

Brett Young, "Mercy"

Brett Young will officially hit radios on Feb. 20 with his newest single, “Mercy.” The sweeping, acoustic breakup ballad takes a slow turn from Young’s string of No. 1 singles “Sleep Without You,” “In Case You Didn’t Know” and “Like I Loved You.” Written by Young and Sean McConnell, “Mercy,” the artist says, speaks to his personal experiences with love and loss: “If you’re gonna break my heart / Just break it / And if you’re gonna take your shot / Then take it / If you made up your mind / Then make it / Make this fast / If you ever loved me / Have mercy,” Young sings in the song’s heartfelt chorus. -- LS

I’m With Her, “Overland”

I'm With Her’s “Overland” is a heartfelt song about realizing that it’s time to leave the place you once called home for a new destination, to start again. In perfect harmony, the trio sings about making the choice to leave it all behind: "Goodbye brother, hello railroad / So long, Chicago / All these years, thought I was where I ought to be / But times are changing / This country's growing / And I'm bound for San Francisco / Where a new life waits for me." "Overland" is Track No. 9 on I’m With Her’s debut album, See You Around, which is set for release on Feb. 16. -- CC

Jimmie Allen, “Best Shot”

From his self-titled EP, Jimmie Allen’s “Best Shot” is his debut single; the song impacts radio on Feb. 20. The romantic lyrics of “Best Shot” tell a sweet story of promise and commitment: “I’m just flesh and bone heart and soul / And I’ve earned a couple scars / I’ve let once-in-a-lifetime kinda things slide right out of my arms / I’ve struck out been knocked down more times than I can count / But that don’t matter now … I’m not the man I was before you / I’m not saying that I’m perfect / Oh, ‘cause, girl, you know I’m not / But I’ll love you with everything I’ve got / Girl, I’ll give you my best shot.” Allen released his EP in October and is offering up “Best Shot” as the first single because he says it is a great example of who he is as an artist: “It was inspired by advice that my grandmother always gave about women and how they just want to know that we care and that we’re trying — her words always stuck with me,” Allen says in a press release. “At the end of the day, I just want to make my grandmother proud. She was my everything.” -- LS
