Brad Paisley: Carrie Underwood ‘Hates’ Kids & Kenny Chesney Has ‘Offshore Accounts,’ Singer Jokes
Every year, stories surface about how Brad Paisley has pulled a prank on whomever he’s on tour with at the time. However, this week the joke was on him during an interview with Charlotte, N.C., radio station WSOC‘s morning host, Tanner. The deejay had eighth grader Kayla Jayne, who was shadowing him, ask the superstar some off-the-wall questions, like, “Do you think Kenny Chesney has spent way too much time on an island drinking rum?”
“I do,” Brad joked, not missing a beat. “I think that he needs to become a productive member of society and quit embezzling all his money into a Cayman island account and going down there and spending money illegally in the British territories. I’m just surprised no one has called him out in the middle of one of our campaigns as somebody who has a lot of offshore accounts.”
The curious kiddo also touched on the West Virginia native’s own financial issues, asking, “How much money did you make last year before and after taxes?”
“Thanks for that great question,” Brad answered with a laugh. “Before taxes I made about $250 million … after taxes about $35,000.”
Before the stunt was over, the middle schooler, who prefaced by saying she loves her own parents, asked if Brad’s “Remind Me” duet partner would be willing to adopt her. “Carrie Underwood, it’s a little known fact, hates children,” he teased.
