This Thanksgiving holiday, Blaine Larsen has extra reason to be thankful. He and his wife Sammie are gearing up to be parents once again. "Big news folks: we are expecting our second child, just found out it's a boy!" Blaine tweeted on Wednesday, November 24.

Blaine and Sammie are already the proud parents of a little girl, Zoe, who turns three in April. "She's getting so big and talking and running around just having a good time," Blaine tells The Boot of his daughter.

Since becoming a father, Blaine says his songwriting and song selection has expanded. "It's definitely matured," he says. "I'm able to sing about having kids now and can relate to that. People probably believe it coming from me now more than before. [laughs] When you've got a two year old, there's definitely some funny things to sing about."

The 24-year-old singer has been in the studio putting the finishing touches on his new album which he says will be more of the same traditional sound his fans have grown to love over the years. "It's very country. I call it modern-traditional. That's my term there. You are not going to mistake it for a pop record, let's put it that way! [laughs] It's what I've always wanted to do."

In the recent weeks, Blaine has also teamed back up with his producer Jimmy Ritchey and famed tunesmith Jim Lauderdale to write. The threesome had success earlier this year when George Strait recorded their song, 'I Gotta Get to You.'

Blaine had his own chart success in 2005 with his Top 20 hit 'How Do You Get That Lonely,' and most recently with new singles 'Chillin'' and 'Leavin'' from his yet-to-be-released album, 'Not Too Bad.' Next month, the Larsens will celebrate their fifth year wedding anniversary. Congrats to the happy couple and soon-to-be big sister!
