Earning nearly 56 percent of votes, Blackberry Smoke's upcoming new album, Like an Arrow, has been selected as The Boot's October 2016 Album of the Month.

Like an Arrow, Blackberry Smoke's fifth studio record, is set for release on Oct. 14. The five-piece Southern rock group -- Charlie Starr (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Turner (bass, vocals), Brit Turner (drums), Paul Jackson (guitar, vocals) and Brandon Still (keyboards) -- produced the project themselves; it contains 12 tracks and is being released through 3 Legged Records.

“This album is the self-produced culmination of 15 years of trying to plant our flag in the musical landscape,” says Starr. “We couldn’t be more proud of it.”

Like an Arrow, recorded at the Quarry Recording Studio in Kennesaw, Ga., includes a song featuring Gregg Allman, called “Free on the Wing,” as its final tune; a complete track listing is below. Since announcing the disc in July, Blackberry Smoke have shared its lead track, "Waiting for Thunder" and "Let It Burn," among others.

“Simply put, it’s a rock ‘n’ roll song. It’s the statement we want to make, musically,” Starr tells Rolling Stone Country of "Waiting for Thunder." “Lyrically, I think maybe it touches on how crazy the world seems right now.”

Like an Arrow is available for pre-order on Blackberry Smoke’s website, where fans can also find a list of the band’s upcoming tour dates.
