Although they're both pursuing hits of decidedly different kinds, country singer Alan Jackson and Boston Red Sox reserve outfielder Brandon Moss do have one thing in common: family. Moss discovered he was related to the singer at a family reunion.

"He's my cousin. It's a distant family cousin," Moss told the Boston Herald recently, emphasizing the word "distant."

Like his cousin, Moss grew up in Georgia and was exposed to country music at an early age. His first concert was a free Ricky Skaggs show when he was eight years old. And although he counts non-country acts Green Day and Stone Temple Pilots among his favorites, which artists would he most like to meet?

"Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson," he said. "I just love those guys."

Maybe cousin Alan can help out with that.
