Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium has announced the lineup for its 2014 Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman shows.

Beginning June 26 and continuing every Thursday at 7:30PM through July, the Ryman will host acts including Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and Yonder Mountain String Band.

The Ryman has deep roots in the history of bluegrass music. Some credit the beginning of bluegrass as it's known today with a performance on the Ryman's stage by Earl Scruggs in December 1945. Scruggs went on stage to perform with his five-string banjo with a three-finger roll, and he began a musical movement.

Scruggs performed with Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys in weekly broadcasts from the Opry at the Ryman on WSM radio, as well as on recording and live performances, until 1948.

Bluegrass returns to its roots for the 2014 Bluegrass Nights. Ticket information is available at Ryman.com.
