Reba McEntire, who earned a Golden Globe nomination as Best Actress as the lead in her 'Reba' sitcom, has a second chance at mining TV gold. According to the Variety, the superstar entertainer will star in 'Mailbu Country,' a comedy pilot for ABC in which she'll play a woman who divorces her philandering, rock-star husband and then moves her family from Nashville to Malibu, where she attempts to restart her singing career, while also trying to "keep herself and three kids from being corrupted by the materialistic and rarified Malibu world she now calls home."

In a post to fans on her official website earlier today, Reba addressed the news, writing: "I know you've all been asking, and I can confirm that the rumors are true. We had our meeting yesterday with the folks at ABC and we now have a put pilot with ABC!!! That means we will shoot the pilot next April and if everything goes like we hope it will, we'll be shooting a sitcom called 'Malibu Country' next August!"

Noting that she's excited to be doing another sitcom, Reba added, "Wooohooooo! I miss the 'Reba' show so much so it will be great to get back into the TV world again!!!"

The series will be executive-produced by the singer, her husband-manager Narvel Blackstock, Kevin Abbott, who served in the same capacity on 'Reba,' Mindy Schultheis and Michael Hanel of Acme Productions, Pam Williams of Laura Ziskin Prods., and musician Dave Stewart (Eurythmics).

'Reba' ran from 2001-2007 on the WB and the CW and reruns can currently be seen daily in syndication. The tireless redhead recently informed her Twitter followers (or 'Tweebas') that she had wrapped up shooting on her 'Somebody's Chelsea' video. Next up, on Oct. 6, she'll kick off her All the Women I Am tour with the Band Perry, Eden's Edge and Steel Magnolia.
