The Band Perry started their ACM celebrations early Saturday afternoon (April 2) as they were presented with plaques commemorating their self-titled debut album being certified gold by the RIAA. To date, 'The Band Perry' has sold more than 500,000 units and garnered a No. 1 single, 'If I Die Young.'

Where does the trio plan on hanging their new bling? "I don't know," Kimberly Perry tells The Boot. "We all still live at home right now since our parents have supported us in every way: mentally, emotionally, spiritually and financially. I don't know if I'll save mine for a future Kimberly Perry residence. I think I'm going to have to go ahead and hang it."

"I've been thinking I'll hang it on the bus," Neil admits. "That would be really cool. I'll screw it all the way around to make sure it's safe!"

If it does make the bus, Kimberly already has a dual purpose in mind for the honor. "It can remind us we still have a lot of work still to do," she interjects.

Sunday night (April 3), the sibling trio received another honor when they were named the ACM's fan-voted New Artist of the Year. Additionally, the group played current single 'You Lie' during the telecast.

The tune is one of the few that the trio didn't pen, so what drew them to it? "One line, in the first verse," Kimberly says. "Our best friends from Illinois actually wrote 'You Lie,' and they came in and played us 12 of their songs. 'You Lie' was the first one they played and they said the line, 'I never liked the taste of crow but, baby, I ate it.' I go, 'That's it! We're cutting that song.' We just immediately felt like it was something we'd written, had we had the idea."

"Even the words they used is something we would say," Reid Perry adds.

"We just loved the spit-fire, and it felt like a very empowering song," Kimberly continues. "It's not just a song about hating or being bitter because you've been cheated on, it's more about climbing out of a circumstance."

"It's very therapeutic, whenever we sing it live," Neil explains. "People really feel a passion when they sing that song. Their fists are pumping in the air, they're slamming on the tables. It's really cool to see."

There's no rest for these siblings, who hit the road tomorrow (April 8) with a show in Corpus Christi, Texas on Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic tour. Get details here.
