Chris Young’s Vegas Dreams Are Coming True
Even though he has scored three No. 1 hits and been on the road with some of country's biggest tours, Chris Young still has dreams -- big and small. One of them is coming true on Friday night, as the Tennessee native will perform at the Fremont Street Experience, one of the events leading up to this Sunday's ACM Awards in Las Vegas.
"I was talking to my manager, Marion Kraft -- I haven't been working with her too long, but I feel like I've known her forever because she's amazing. She [works with] me, Josh Kelley and Miranda Lambert," Chris tells The Boot. "She goes, 'What do you want to do this year?' And I'm thinking, 'We're on the [Rascal] Flatts [tour], then we're going to Iraq and we're on the Jason Aldean tour. That's pretty good right there.' And she said, 'Well, what are some things you've never gotten to do before?' I said, 'I've never gotten to play Fremont Street during the ACMs. I've always wanted to do that.' So, its definitely something I'm excited about. I've been before and watched other people out there on those stages, and it's all just wall-to-wall people the whole time."
"It's really going to be a cool experience for me and my band just to get out there," he continues. "We'll play some new music, play 'Voices.' I'm looking forward to it."
Chris has a lot more happening in the next few months, in addition to his performance at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas on Friday (April 1). Not only is the singer presenting an award on the ACMs show on Sunday (April 3), but he'll also see a tremendously special project of his come to life on the broadcast. Darius Rucker is set to perform 'Music From the Heart,' which Chris co-wrote with hit songwriter Brett James and 25 developmentally disabled young adults at the ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp last summer.
Chris is currently rushing up the country charts with his latest single, 'Tomorrow,' the first release from his upcoming album, 'Neon.'
