LeAnn Rimes’ Husband Dean Sheremet Files for Divorce

Dean Sheremet has filed divorce papers to officially end his marriage to LeAnn Rimes. LeAnn and Dean (spelled Deane, in court documents) were married February 23, 2002. Although they have been living apart since July, the official date of their separation is yet to be determined.

After the couple separated, Dean moved to New York, where he is currently enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America. LeAnn, as has been well publicized, has been involved in a relationship with actor Eddie Cibrian, who subsequently filed for divorce from his wife of eight years and mother of their two young children, in August. The following month, LeAnn announced on her website that, "After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage. This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another."

LeAnn and Dean first met at the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards. After one date, LeAnn told In Style magazine, "This is the guy I want to marry."

They have no children.

ET reports that in papers filed, Dean has cited irreconcilable differences. He is asking for spousal support and that LeAnn pay for his attorney's fees.
