Rascal Flatts Celebrate ‘Every Day’ Heroes

Rascal Flatts pay homage to good Samaritans in their brand-new video for 'Every Day.' The concept for the video was something that came easy to the superstar trio, given their work with the Red Cross and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, coupled with tragic news seen on television everyday.

"Unfortunately, there have been so many terrible things that have happened in the world, that there's plenty to write about," lead singer Gary LeVox told The Boot. "So we came up with some different scenarios that fit the lyrics: 'Everyday, you save my life.' We had Red Cross workers and doctors in the video, and a teenage mother who was a prostitute and needed help . . . Just all those different scenarios in life that result in a guardian angel at times."

The video features several characters in different types of distress, but always with a hero to save them. Watch the touching video and read more of our interview with LeVox after the jump.

'Every Day' is the third single off Rascal Flatts' platinum-selling CD, 'Still Feels Good.' LeVox, who co-wrote the title track, says that the meaning of the album title is two-fold.

"You know, with divorce being like 55-percent these days, it seems like it's just easier for people to get a divorce instead of trying to make it work," LeVox explains. "So this is just a way to say, after all this time together, 'It still feels good. It still feels like the first time.'"

'Still Feels Good' also speaks to Rascal Flatts' career. After eight years of enormous success -- more than 16 million albums sold, eight No. 1 songs, countless CMA, ACM, CMT and People's Choice Awards -- new accolades are never old hat for the guys. LeVox and bandmates Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney are still just as excited, and having just as much fun.

"You know, you stand in front of your mirror as a kid, dreaming that you'll get to do it. You've got all those people standing there singing every lyric to every song you've created -- there's no feeling that compares to that. It's amazing," says LeVox. "We've got the greatest jobs in the world and waited a lifetime for it to happen. So for us to have done it now for eight years so far and to have been able to make a difference, win some awards, still sell out Madison Square Garden and stuff like that . . . We've just surpassed our dreams and goals."

So what is Rascal Flatts' next goal? On rare days off from touring, they're hard at work on their sixth studio album. It's a project that may give fans a taste of something a little bit different.

"I think Jay and Joe Don would like to sing lead on some of this album," says LeVox. "So that would definitely be something new."
