Randy Owen knows he won't always be around to helm Country Cares. He also knows, better than anyone, what a big ask it is of an artist to assume that responsibility.

First-time and returning artists flocked to Memphis, Tenn., in January for the 30th anniversary of Country Cares, and former St. Jude patients shared their stories.

Owen wanted to launch a campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and he hoped that the country music industry would join him in rallying behind the cause. Did they ever.

Owen founded the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids program 30 years ago, in 1989.

Ballerini will play her hit duet "This Feeling" alongside the Chainsmokers during the special, which will also feature artists such as Dua Lipa, Ella Mai and Charlie Puth.

Luke Bryan and Nashville stars Charles Esten and Clare Bowen recently supported. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital during an event at the Grand Ole Opry.
