Keith Urban was born in New Zealand but moved to Queensland, Australia, with his parents as a toddler. After realizing his potential as a guitar player while still a child, Urban became well known in the Australian music scene for his prowess. He released one record in Australia, before relocating to Nashville, Tenn., in 1992 and working as a guitarist and songwriter. Urban formed the group the Ranch in 1997; they released one self-titled album on Capitol Nashville. Urban's 1999 self-titled solo American debut produced the No. 1 song "But for the Grace of God," just the first in a consistent string of hits since then. The country star married actress Nicole Kidman, a fellow Aussie, in 2006 and began serving as a judge on 'American Idol' in 2013. He also has his own line of guitars and accessories.
