Under a host of hanging lights, Maren Morris performed "My Church" at the 2016 CMA Awards with what seemed like the full power of the gospel flowing through her.

Backed by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band (did anyone see that gold tuba?!) and some of the most soulful, bluesy backup singers you could ask for, Morris delighted the crowd with one of the most rocking performances of the night. "My Church" may be about finding God outside the four walls of a chapel, but man, did Morris's performance take us to church!

With seven nods, Morris is the most-nominated CMA Awards nominee in 2016, a fact that seems even more surprising when you consider that, just last year, she was watching the show on television. Morris' debut disc Hero is up for Album of the Year, while the album's first single is nominated for both Single and Song of the Year.

Morris' performance of "My Church" at the CMAs is just another example of why the rising artist has been sought after since bursting onto the scene earlier this year. In 2016, she toured with Keith Urban, teamed up with Alicia Keys for CMT Crossroads and performed on Dierks Bentley's latest record.
