Lee Ann Womack will join a star-studded cast to help honor women who are making a difference. The singer was recently tapped to perform for Good Housekeeping's annual Shine On Awards, April 11 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

"Women are in so many ways unsung and unseen heroes," says the singer (quote via South Dakota radio station KIKN). They're not just the teachers, nurses, caregivers -- they can be the doctors, activists, politicians and scientists, and this night is about recognizing that awesome contribution women make in this world."

The ceremony, which will be hosted by actress and model Rebecca Romijn, will include appearances by Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep, and a performance by R&B singer Eve. The ceremony will also honor Michelle Rhee, the founder and CEO of StudentsFirst.

Lee Ann will undoubtedly enjoy some time off the road, after wrapping up the George Strait and Reba McEntire tour, which concludes this Saturday, April 9, in Louisville, Ky. The married mother of two will head back into the studio this summer to work on the follow-up to her critically-acclaimed 2008 album, 'Call Me Crazy.'
