Kenny Rogers and Home Free Share Music Video for ‘Children, Go Where I Send Thee’

Kenny Rogers and country a cappella group Home Free teamed up for a rendition of the traditional gospel song "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" on Rogers' new holiday record, Once Again, It's Christmas, and the accompanying music video captures their beautiful delivery.

The a cappella quintet were the 2013 winners of The Sing-Off TV show, but Rogers stumbled on Home Free himself, sans television.

"My son’s choir director at school told me I needed to check Home Free out, so I went home and Googled them and saw them sing "Ring of Fire,"" he says in a press statement. "They were incredible, and I thought, ‘I must do something with them.'"

Rogers is extremely happy with the end product of "Children, Go Where I Send Thee," which he describes as "perfect." He recalls that they all had a "great time" in the recording studio, the Compound, and also on set at Nashville's Houston Station.

"They were so nice to work with musically and exceptionally well-driven. It really speaks volumes for their talent and professionalism," Rogers concludes. "I’m so happy we were able to collaborate on this song."

Home Free was also extremely pleased to work with Rogers.

“What an honor to share the microphone with Kenny Rogers!" the group's bass singer, Tim Foust, raves. "Apart from having one of the most iconic voices of all time, Kenny is an absolute class act."

Adds member Rob Lundquist, “It took us just a second to say, ‘Yes, anything you want us to be a part of, we’ll do it.' ... He’s such a true legend. He’s so nice, down to Earth and easy to talk to. There’s no ego at all. He’s just a great man.”

Rogers is currently out on the road, on his 34th annual Christmas tour. He will embark on his final world tour in 2016 before retiring from the road.
