Kenny Chesney Wraps Up 2015 The Big Revival Tour With New Record
Kenny Chesney wrapped up his 2015 The Big Revival Tour at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. with a new record.
The "Save It For a Rainy Day" singer performed in front of 60,082 fans Friday night (Aug. 28) and 60,124 fans Saturday (Aug. 29), making a total of 120,206 fans. The performance marks Chesney's ninth time in the New England Patriots' home stadium, playing before more than 750,000 fans since 2005.
“Some nights you just know you’re going new places up there,” Chesney says in a statement following his show. “I could hear the fans long before the swing was above the platform – and flying over all those heads, seeing the faces, I could tell Boston had been waiting for these shows almost as much me and the band had! The No Shoes Nation are some of the fiercest, most passionate music lovers – and there is nothing like the way they come at these songs.”
The Tennessee native kicked off his tour on March 26 with two back-to-back shows in Nashville, before hitting the road, with a variety of opening acts, including Brantley Gilbert, Old Dominion, Jake Owen, Chase Rice and Cole Swindell, along with Jason Aldean and Eric Church for his stadium shows. But while Chesney has already broken several attendance records on his The Big Revival Tour, including stops in Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn. and Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa., nothing could have quite prepared Chesney for the enthusiasm from the crowd as he kicked off his final concert on the tour.
“And just when you think it can’t get any better, the last night of the tour hit,” Chesney adds. “The audience was even louder, live-er and sang every single word back to us! You can’t begin to imagine something like that, and knowing we’re putting the tents up for another year, we’ll hear their cheers until it’s time to start it up again for next year.”
