Bucky Covington will get behind the wheel of a race car for the first time on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Nashville's Fairgrounds Speedway during the Legends Car Race. The event will benefit Nashville's Local 140 Fire Fighters Relief Fund and Help the Good Guys. Originally from Rockingham, N.C., the birthplace of NASCAR, Bucky is a huge race fan and recently sang the national anthem at the Iowa Speedway.

The family-friendly festivities kick off with qualifying starting at 2:00 PM followed by an autograph session by Bucky at 4:00 PM and a full band concert at 4:30 PM. Bucky will then suit up and race his custom-made Legends car at 5:30 PM. All events are open to the public. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival at the Fairgrounds Speedway.

Proceeds from the Legends Car Race will benefit the Local 140 Fire Fighters Relief Fund and Help the Good Guys, a Nashville-based organization that raises money to provide immediate financial relief for injured or fallen firefighters and their families. Founded by medically retired Metro Nashville police officer Mickey Milam, the organization seeks to ease the emotional and financial burden for wounded community heroes.

Bucky Covington's latest album, Good Guys, features "Drinking Side of Country," the duet with Shooter Jennings. The disc will be released Sept. 11.
