Jason Aldean has earned several new titles in the past year: multi-platinum selling artist, two-time CMA Award winner, six-time American Country Award winner (including the trophy for Artist of the Year), and now he can also refer to himself as a Grammy nominee. The Georgia native performed at the recent Grammy Nominations Concert and also learned that he was up for three of the coveted awards.

"The Grammys are the biggest there is in music," he tells CBS News. "My birthday's a couple weeks after that, so that's a pretty good month. That's my lucky month."

The married father of two spent the hours immediately following the announcement texting friends, family and band members the good news. And although he has more than two months to prepare for the the awards ceremony, he already knows exactly what he'll do if he actually wins a trophy.

"[I'd] probably [hang it] around my neck," jokes Jason. "I just want to do like everybody else does, and put it up to their ear ... I'll probably sleep with it and everything."

The 34-year-old acknowledges 2011 has been a big year for reasons other than the long-awaited industry recognition. He also kicked off his first headlining tour, My Kinda Party, which included booking several amphitheaters. "I've been waiting for this kind of thing to happen since I was 14," he admits to The Boot. "This is the tour I've been waiting to have and hoping it would be successful. You can't help but get a little jacked up when you go out there and see 22,000 people screaming and hollering for you."

The 'Tattoos on This Town' singer plans to spend the next few weeks at home with his family, before he heads out for the 2012 leg of his My Kinda Party tour, which will include Luke Bryan and Lauren Alaina as opening acts. See his concert schedule here.

Jason is nominated for Grammys for Best Country Solo Performance for 'Dirt Road Anthem,' Best Country Duo/Group Performance for 'Don't You Wanna Stay' with Kelly Clarkson and Best Country Album for My Kinda Party.' The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Staples Center, Feb. 12 at 8:00 PM ET on CBS. See a complete list of nominees here.
