The life and legacy of Linda McCartney was honored Monday night (Nov. 7) in Music City with Let Us In Nashville: A Tribute to Linda McCartney, a concert event with a sole interest in finding a cure for cancer. The late wife of Sir Paul McCartney battled breast cancer until her untimely death in 1995.

Hosted by actor-turned-country singer Jeff Daniels and held at the historic Ryman Auditorium, the event featured performances from some of country music's biggest names, including Steel Magnolia, Phil Vassar, Chuck Wicks, SHeDAISY and Blue Sky Riders.

Now available is 'Let Us In Nashville,' a compilation album of participating country stars covering a few of Paul's legendary Beatles tunes. Of her involvement in the project, singer Sarah Darling who also performed at the charity concert, tells The Boot, "It's always been a dream of mine to record one of my all-time favorite songs, 'Blackbird.' I love what the song is about, and not to mention it's written by Sir Paul McCartney. I pray that this project touches many lives and continues to grow bringing awareness for women and children fighting cancer."

Proceeds from the concert and the album go to the Women and Cancer Fund, which is authorized by McCartney in memory of his late wife. Click here to learn more about the goodwill campaign.
