Jason Aldean Adds Some Ink to Celebrate New Single

Jason Aldean says he wouldn't dare sing a song with the word tattoos in the title without having at least one himself. So to commemorate the release of his new single, 'Tattoos on This Town,' the singer added a second work of art to his body.

"I had one on my shoulder, and now I have a new one on my forearm," Jason tells the Boot. "It has the names of both my daughters in it. Those are my only two ... for now."

Jason says the tune calls to mind one's adolescence, when you have few cares or responsibilities. "You're just out having fun, growing up wherever you grew up and doing all these things that helped shape you as an adult. But I think as a teen, you don't realize that your teenage years are going to be some of the best years of your life. Then you get older and look back and remember those times and what it's all about."

'Tattoos' is the fourth single from Jason's double-platinum 'My Kinda Party' CD, a disc that has offered up No. 1 hits including 'Dirt Road Anthem,' the title cut, and the duet with Kelly Clarkson, 'Don't You Wanna Stay.' Jason is already looking for new tunes for his next recording.

"[Producer] Michael Knox and I met a couple weeks ago to go over songs," Jason reveals. "Before I met with him this last time we already had three that I liked a lot. After this last meeting, we could go in and cut a record."

While the current game plan is to start recording in October, Jason has not stopped looking for songs. "This is our fourth album, and people know what it is we do, so they're writing songs for us. We'll wait and see what else comes in."

Jason is up for five CMA awards this November, including Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. He is also nominated for Album of the Year for 'My Kinda Party,' and his duet with Kelly garnered them Single and Musical Event nods.

The 45th Annual CMA awards will be broadcast live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 9 at 8:00 P.M (ET). Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will co-host the event for ABC.
