The 'Country Man' now has a female counterpart. Luke Bryan has climbed inside the Top 40 on the country charts with his latest single, 'Country Girl (Shake It For Me),' which is the first release from his upcoming album.

The Georgia native has been playing the song live in his shows for nearly two months, and it's getting the biggest response out of any of his songs (including 'Country Man'!). "We feel like it's a life-changer," Luke tells The Boot. "What's interesting is, I wrote it with my buddy Dallas Davidson, who I wrote 'Rain Is a Good Thing' with. Me and Dallas, heck, we always listen to crazy music, and we were on iTunes one day listening to some hip-hop songs. We said, 'We need to talk about getting some country girls to shake it a little bit.' We just laughed about it. And then we started working on it, and we wrote it."

Although, Luke wasn't necessarily confident about the tune from the start. "I am the world's worst at going, 'Oh my God, oh my God, what are we doing?'" he continues. "I started freaking out, because I said, 'Come on, Dal, we can't talk about country girls shaking their butts all over the place in country music.' Dallas is rooting me on, and we kept on working on it. I played it for my producer and my wife and everybody. Everybody's saying, 'That thing's going to be crazy.' It's a fun song, and it certainly adds to the live show and get some old country girls shaking a little bit."

The singer has been looking at different treatments for the song's video, and considering it will probably involve several country girls shaking it, he joked he had to run it by his wife Caroline first. "I've already discussed it with my wife, and we've figured out our limitations there," Luke said with a laugh. "No, I'm playing! [Director] Shawn [Silva] does my videos, and Shawn and I have talked about it, so we're getting ready to get a couple of days together to do the video. The whole idea behind the video will be a lot of fun. We don't necessarily know what route we're going to take on it ... I've got some funny ideas about it, but sometimes those are quite scary, so those may get ex-ed out at some point. But we're moving forward on it. We feel like the video is going to be really fun and important for the song."

Luke will most certainly perform 'Country Girl' when he returns to the road April 8 in Corpus Christi, Texas, as part of Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic tour. For a full list of Luke's tour dates, click here.
