Zac Brown Band Announce Southern Ground Festival

The Zac Brown Band are taking their Eat & Greets to a whole new level. The guys have always enjoyed combining their love of music and southern cuisine into one by hosting the food-filled fan parties at as many shows throughout the year as possible. Instead of the standard backstage experience of getting an autograph and a quick photo with the band, concert goers are treated to recipes of Zac's and the band's trusted chef, Rusty Hamlin, which can include brisket and pork prepared with Zac's famous Southern Ground Grub Georgia Clay Spice Rub and his Brown Sauce.

Now, the Zac Brown Band have announced their first Southern Ground Music and Food Festival to take place April 8-10 in Clemson, S.C. at Clemson University's Littlejohn Coliseum Festival Lawn.

Besides the amazing food and solid musical lineup, they will also showcase a brand new, state-of-the-art mobile stage designed for the tour, featuring sky boxes, video and a light show.

Zac Brown Band will headline the first two nights of the three-night festival, with the final night headlined by Amos Lee. Other performers include Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowrey, Nic Cowan, The Wood Brothers, the Wheeler Boys and Blackberry Smoke, all of whom are signed to Zac's record label, Southern Ground Artists, Inc. The Secret Sisters will also be on hand to open the show on Sunday.

"Zac was wanting to create a traveling music festival," Levi Lowrey tells The Boot of the event. "It's been talked about for a long time. He wants to have his hand in every part of it. He's going to be doing that with the music, food and everything else. He wants it to be an experience like nothing else out there. It's going to be that times one hundred! He's going to be part of it all. There are no limitations, creatively. He has complete control, whereas sometimes you can't do an Eat & Greet at some festivals because there's no space and it's hard with security or whatever. This one, he has complete control over, and that's where he's going to shine because he can express himself creatively. It's inspiring to see his drive."

Gates will open Friday at 4:00 PM, Saturday at 6:00 PM and Sunday at 12:00 PM ET. Tickets to the Southern Ground Music and Food Festival will go on sale Friday, March 4 at 10:00 AM (ET), with a fan club pre-sale tickets available now. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or by clicking here.
