Miranda Lambert has had to cancel her upcoming Australian tour, due to illness. She was set to kick off the trek opening for Alan Jackson in Melbourne Friday, but came down with a respiratory infection, forcing her to withdraw from the dates.

Naturally, the country songstress is disappointed. "I was very much looking forward to Australia with Alan Jackson and performing for all the music lovers Down Under," Miranda says in a statement posted on her website.

Alan's first tour of Australia is reportedly the fastest-selling country music tour in that country's history, having sold out within hours of being put on sale.

Jasmine Rae and McAlister Kemp will replace Miranda in the opening slot on the trek, while Australian country star John Williamson will do the same for the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMC Rocks the Hunter this weekend.

Miranda, who is scaling the charts with her latest Top 15 hit 'Heart Like Mine,' is still scheduled to perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 16.

The Boot sends Miranda our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
