Sure, Lady Antebellum were frontrunners in their country categories at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, but it was their two wins in all-genre categories that visibly shocked the country trio. Their No. 1, multi-platinum-selling smash, 'Need You Now,' is the Grammy's Song and Record of the Year.

"What an amazing year," said Dave Haywood as they accepted the award. "We are so blown away. We want to thank God, our families back in Nashville and Augusta, Ga., everyone at Borman Entertainment -- you've been the flagship behind this song that has completely flipped our world upside down."

The trio beat out Miranda Lambert, Eminem, Ray LaMontagne, and Cee Lo Green for the coveted Song of the Year honors.

"This past year has completely changed our life," said Hillary Scott through tears. "We love you all so much. Thank you."

Hillary fought back tears just a few minutes later when Lady A won Record of the Year, another all-genre category that included B.o.B., Cee Lo Green, Eminem, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.

"We are so stunned, we sort of walked in the wrong direction," said an emotional Hillary. "You don't know what this year's been to us. We had the opportunity to perform this song on this stage at the Grammy's last year ... We are so thankful for this."

"We just cried our eyes out backstage," added Lady A's Charles Kelley. "I can't believe we are here again."

'Need You Now' was a song that almost wasn't, Charles tells The Boot.

When the trio joined Josh Kear to write one day, Charles' wife was upset because it was her birthday. But once the group began to write, magic happened. One of the two songs written that day was 'Need You Now.'

"I'd been fooling around with this little guitar melody at home and had that first line, 'Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor.' But I didn't have a chorus melody. I played what I had for Josh, and everybody liked it, so we just started writing," said Charles. "Everybody brought in a little piece of that song after I started playing some of the basic chords."

Lady A's other three Grammy wins Sunday were for Best Country Album, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals and Best Country Song, which they share with Josh.

Although awards are not unusual for the group -- last year they won the Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for 'I Run to You' - they were clearly moved by the Grammy Awards.

As the group wrapped up their thanks for the Song of the Year Grammy, Charles approached the microphone with a broad smile. "I want to thank my wife, too," he said. "Happy Valentine's Day."

Something tells us this may be the best Valentine's Day gift the trio and their loved ones could receive.
