Sugarland Put ‘Crazy’ Acting Skills to Work

Lead singer Jennifer Nettles plays a crazy stalker obsessed with 'Chuck' actor, Ryan McPartlin. With a little help from bandmate Kristian Bush, she kidnaps her object of affection and then throws him a little party.

Jennifer is so believable in the role that she may have a bit of trouble in the romance department if any potential suitors happen to see it. "One of the highest compliments we got was from Jason Owen [former head of publicity for Sugarland's record label, Universal Music Nashville]," Jennifer tells The Boot. "He wrote us an email that said, 'You guys are going to win an Oscar for this video and, unfortunately, Jennifer's not going to get a date because no one's going to go with her since she did such a convincing job of being a crazy person.' [laughs] I loved doing it. And, I loved actually seeing Kristian acting in this. It felt like the first time he threw his hat in the ring and did some acting. I loved it."

As to why the 'Chuck' actor was chosen to play her love interest in the video, Jennifer told Entertainment Weekly, "He is Captain Awesome. He's the perfect guy. He's the perfect boyfriend. He's the perfect athlete. We thought that would be a funny twist. He fits the profile. Very handsome. And he's a good actor as well, and also a nice guy."

Although, it might not have been a coincidence that Kristian's favorite show is 'Chuck' and the leading man is from the show. "I've been trying to get us on 'Chuck,'" Kristian tells The Boot. "I've got to do my audition right. I want to be on 'Chuck' real bad. We kidnapped 'Awesome' already."

So, why does Kristian like the show so much? "Because it's the geek that gets the girl," he explains. "C 'mon man." However, Jennifer has set her sights on a different hit show. "I want to be on 'Glee,' wouldn't that be fun?"

'Stuck Like Glue' is the first single from Sugarland's upcoming fourth studio album. 'The Incredible Machine,' due in stores October 19.
