When Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood saw the 2010 CMA Awards on his itinerary, he knew, hands down, that his date would be his mom. Dave tweeted an invite to his mom, but she unfortunately had to decline the offer.

"The long story short was she already had a mission trip booked out of the country," Dave tells The Boot. "I had no idea. I was like, 'Dad, why didn't you tell me this?' He was kind of helping me find a funny way to ask her to go because she's literally obsessed with Twitter and Facebook now. She does everything on there. After I asked her on Twitter, she called me crying. I was like, 'YES! I totally got her!' She said, 'No, I can't go!' I said, 'Mom, why can't you go? It's the CMAs! What in the world do you have to do?' She told me she booked this thing with the church out of the country like a month ago. At least she's doing a great thing. I don't want to take her away from that."

Dave has now found another date to the CMAs, whom he's equally excited about. "Dad's going to come up [to Nashville] and come with me," Dave says. "I like having family at those things. It always makes for a special night regardless if you win or not. It doesn't matter. Being there, being nominated and having family there with me is always special. It's fun for them, too. They get a kick out of being there. I'm going to go with Dad this year. Maybe I'll get Mom back up there next year!"

Lady A is nominated in five categories at this year's CMA Awards, including Album of the Year for 'Need You Now' and Entertainer of the Year. The trio have just released their fourth single off the 'Need You Now' album, 'Hello World.' Watch them perform the song live in our studio below.
