Little Big Town Ready to Throwdown on Upcoming Tour

Members of Little Big Town are looking forward to running with the big dogs during the upcoming Country Throwdown tour, which will feature Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Eric Church, and a slew of others. Karen Fairchild says the group is excited about the prospect of collaborating with their tourmates, and feels that even though they are all parents now, they can still hold their own with the rowdy bunch.

"Those are some serious, rough boys we will be touring with and we can hang," Karen tells Country Weekly. "We just won't let our children on their buses!" She says she'd love to take some of the other artists out onstage with them during the shows as well, and hopes a collaboration in the studio may result from the Throwdown experience.

"We've always wanted to do something with Jamey Johnson," says Karen. "I've always thought about doing Kris Kristofferson's 'Why Me Lord' [with Jamey]." The group has had luck recreating onstage collaborations before. During their tour with Sugarland, a finale performance of 'Life in A Northern Town' ended up becoming a surprise hit and garnered them a Grammy nomination with Sugarland and Jake Owen.

Kimberly Schlapman adds that Jack Ingram better watch his back during the Throwdown, as they're comin' for him. And he knows why... "We owe Jack Ingram a practical joke," she says. "I won't tell you what it was, but he pulled a joke on us one time onstage, so we owe him for that."

"Payback, baby. It's gonna be a wild, rowdy circus," adds Jimi Westbrook. The Throwdown tour kicks off May 14 in Tampa, Fla.
