Jo Dee Messina is putting on her running shoes to host the St. Jude Music Road Fest, which will raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Scheduled for June 12, as part of the annual CMA Music Fest, the 5K Fun and Run Race will wind through downtown Nashville, to benefit the incredible work St. Jude does for children battling cancer. Participants who raise $500 or more will be invited to an exclusive brunch with Jo Dee following the race.

"I do as much as I can for St. Jude because I honestly believe in what they do," says the singer. "We had our first race last year, and I am thrilled they asked us to host it again. I am very proud to be affiliated with such an amazing charity and event."

Jo Dee isn't the only country star lending her time and talents to the worthy cause.

Carrie Underwood, Jewel, Danny Gokey, Little Big Town and several others participated in Country Cares for St. Jude earlier this year, spending time walking the halls of the Memphis facility and visiting with several children over a three-day period. Phil Vassar partnered with St. Jude as part of their annual Dream Home Giveaway, kicking off the contest by performing a concert. And Darius Rucker will host a star-studded concert at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon on June 7.

Jo Dee, who recently spoke out about her unplanned five-year absence from the charts, will release the first of three EP's next month, with the other two coming out later this year. She's also continuing her critically-acclaimed Music Room Series tour.
