Brad Paisley makes his directorial debut with the short film 'When Mom's Away," which will have its Southeast premiere at the Nashville Film Festival on April 22. The film is a lead-in to the closing night feature, 'Teenage Paparazzo.' Brad's film is a wacky, fictitious and hilarious imagining of what happens when wife and mother Kimberly Williams-Paisley is away from home and he is left in charge of the household and their sons, Huck and Jasper, with a little animation thrown in for good measure.

Kris Kristofferson's 'Provinces of Night' will make its Southeast premiere at the festival as well. Directed by Shane Dax Taylor, the film also stars Val Kilmer, Dwight Yoakam, Hilary Duff and Reece Thompson.

'Pickin' and Grinnin'' sees its world premiere at the festival. The story follows the Johnson Brothers as they set out on a cross-country road trip in a 1976 Winnebago, headed for Nashville. The brothers are determined to win the Nashville Sing-a-Ling contest, but along the way they discover the journey may be more important than the destination. The film is directed by Jon Gries, best known as Uncle Rico in 'Napoleon Dynamite.'

Sheryl Crow contributes an original song to 'Raw Faith.' A documentary also getting its world premiere at the festival, the film follows the private life of minister Marilyn Sewell, depicting her life outside the pulpit, which finds her lonely and looking for change. Sewell finds that she must rely on raw faith as she questions her future, her difficult past, her God, and her ability to love.

'Teenage Paparazzo,' the closing film for which Brad's short opens the final event, follows 13-year-old paparazzo Austin Visschedyk as he endeavors to snap photos of celebrity Adrian Grenier of HBO's 'Entourage.' Both lives change as the two find themselves becoming friends as the movie progresses.

More than 220 films from more than 38 countries will be presented during the festival, including 70 feature films. The event will be held April 15-22 at Regal Green Hills Cinemas in Nashville.
