Kix BrooksKix Brooks will soon be out of contention for a CMA Duo of the Year Award, but he may still need a bigger trophy case. It was announced Tuesday (Oct. 13) that Kix is this year's CMA Award winner for Broadcast Personality of the Year, for his weekly radio show, 'American Country Countdown.' He's is the first recording artist ever to receive an award in the broadcasters' category.

Kix is already a two-time CMA winner this year, even though the show isn't until Nov. 11. It was also announced this past May that Kix, along with singing partner Ronnie Dunn, were awarded the CMA International Artist Achievement Award. Brooks and Dunn, along with fellow recipient Dierks Bentley, were given the award in Sydney, Australia, while on tour together.

The duo, who recently announced their split, are nominated for two more CMA Awards this year -- Duo and Musical Event of the Year. See a full list of 2009 CMA Award nominees here.
