John Rich Sued for Bloody Hotel Mishap
Jerry Montano is changing his tune about the night he left John Rich's Hollywood hotel room with a bloody face. The Danzig bassist refused to press charges and insisted that it was an accident when Rich swung a glass object, smacking him in the face. He admitted they both had been drinking heavily and even told TMZ that he's still a fan of Rich.
But now, Montano wants to be compensated for his injuries. He has filed a lawsuit claiming that Rich's business manager warned him that the country crooner often gets "extremely violent when drunk." Despite the warning, Montano went to Rich's hotel room after partying at a Hollywood bar, to continue the party.
Montano now says Rich became "increasingly violent and belligerent" over a situation with a female that had happened earlier. That's when Rich began swinging the glass object, hitting Montano in the face. Montano says he suffered "cuts, scrapes, permanent scarring, swelling, and bruising to his lips, jaw, face, teeth and nose." It is not clear how much money he is seeking in damages.
