With your voice, you could do any kind of music. So why country?

It sounds hokey, but it's just where my heart is. I am a country boy. I don't look like it, but at the end of the day [it's] my story, my upbringing, the way I live, the way I think, the way I'm close to God, the way that I want to help the community, the way that I believe that we should take care of kids. Everything about me is country ... I'm not a fair weather friend. I stick with something for a long time. Country music just says that to me.
